The mini series is a great way to introduce young skiers to racing. The event is run by a very friendly and supportive team of experienced skiers. Running over three different weekends during the snow season, it provides a great opportunity for families to come along and encourage the kids to race in these fun events. Offering three distances - 0.5km, 1.5km or 2.5km - it provides youth of all ages and abilities the opportunity to get involved. Starts 1pm.

15 August 2010 Learn to Skate Day at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort

Learn to skate with some of Lake Mountain's most experienced ski instructors, who will take you through the skating techniques on cross country skis. Course will run when a minimum number of 5 persons have booked. Open to beginners, advanced and race training for the 2010 Hoppet. Lesson includes: all day training; equipment hire; trail pass; resort lunch; and lesson DVD.
Cost: $85 per person (pre booking is essential)

Why should skiers have all the fun? The annual tobbogan race day is a great day out for all, with fun for all ages and levels of ability. Sponsored by the local ski hire, great prizes and trophies are up for grabs. With a carnival like atmosphere, music, balloons and showbags help to make the day even more enjoyable. The snow sculpting competition is a popular alternative to tobbogan races.
The staff rece at the end of the day creates lots of laughes from the crowd and a fitting end to a fun day!

Experience one of Victoria's most beautiful and best known wine areas on the run or walk in the second annual Yarra Valley Grape Run. With spectacularly scenic views of the valley and the Yarra Ranges, this community fitness event is a truly memorable experience - one not to be missed! This is a unique event in Australia in that it is modelled on the illustrious South African Comrades Marathon, where the route alternates each year. This year, the long course (13km run) will run from Healesville to the Yarra Rec Reserve. New in 2010, is an 8km run, which will start at TarraWarra Estate and finish at Yarra Rec Reserve. The short course (5km run/walk) will start and finish at Yarra Glen.
After you have finished your run/walk, take the opportunity to spend the rest of the day or weekend to enjoy all that the Yarra Valley has to offer.

Denise Scott has been treading the boards for longer than she cares to remember, and this wealth of experience has made her one the country's strongest live comic performers. Scotty has been making people laugh with her blend of personal stories and topical observations. Now in her fifties, with a couple of adult kids, Denise is still popular and is a pivotal member of the break-fast show on Vega 91.5. Denise is the author of All that happened at number 26.

Be part of the inaugural Australian Sparkling Wine Competition, the first recognised national event of it’s kind in Australia. Date: 26th October 2010 Venue: To be confirmed Judges for the event will include Chief Judge John Ellis, owner of Hanging Rock Winery and Wendy Cameron, from Brown Brothers. Winners will be announced at the Cup Eve Dinner at the Black Spur Inn. on Monday 1st November

Marysville Sparkling Wine Festival Tuesday 2nd November (Cup Day)
10am onwards  - A day of food wine and entertainment at Marysville Central Park, in the main street of Marysville. Sample sparkling wines, local food and produce, live music and watch the cup on the big screen.
